Mindfulness Teacher and Consultant

In addition to Mindfulness-Based Group courses, I offer individual psychological services at a small private practice in Balmain, Sydney’s Inner West, as an AHPRA Registered Psychologist, Registered Medicare Provider, and Member of the Australian Psychological Society.

I am an Approved Allied Health Professional (Approval Number 15316) to provide psychology treatment under NSW SIRA Workers Compensation Regulation, and approval extends to the NSW Motor Accidents CTP Scheme.

Individual Psychology Sessions

Each person’s experiences, needs and preferences are unique, and there is no “one size fits all” approach to psychological therapy. I practice within a framework of evidence-based interventions, and draw on a range of Focussed Psychological strategies.  These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, psycho-education, skills training and relaxation strategies. Additionally, I have significant experience using Mindfulness-Based Approaches, and integrating Mindfulness with CBT, when this may be suitable for an individual.

I am able to assist clients with a range of common mental health and well-being issues, including

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Stress-related issues

  • Managing life transitions

  • Grief and loss

  • Parenting issues, including disability-related concerns and stresses

  • Managing chronic health conditions and enhancing well-being

  • Psychology services are open to individual clients, including adolescents and adults with a current Mental Health Care Plan, and a GP referral. A Medicare rebate is available when referred by your GP, under a current MHCP.

  • Private Health Fund rebates are available from most major Health Funds, depending on  your level of cover. Ask your Health Fund about their rebates for Individual Psychology sessions.

Mindfulness One to One

New to Mindfulness?

Generally, I  recommend learning mindfulness  by joining an 8 week  MBCT and MBSR group course – I offer courses in Rozelle 4 times per year, and there are a number of other trained and experienced MBSR and MBCT teachers in Sydney offering these courses. However, if attending a group course may not be possible, or suitable for an individual, you may wish to discuss Mindfulness One to One. If so, please telephone me on 02 8005 1367, or email me to discuss possibilities.

Mindfulness Top Ups

If you have previously completed a mindfulness course, or have some experience of mindfulness practices, and would like to strengthen your practice or get back on track with regular practice, I would be pleased to work with you one to one, for a series of sessions, or a one-off session. If this might suit you, please let me know a little about your previous mindfulness experience when you first telephone or email me.
